A skip button is worse than just having a proper difficulty choice that removes all handholding or at least an option in settings to remove tutorials.

Because video game reviewers on youtube would skip the tutorial and then complain when they don't know how to do basic functions like catch pokemon.
If you want an example of this, look at AVGN's OoT (Or MM, I forget which) review. Dude goes the whole game unaware that there's a lock-on function.

This is important because children are impressionable. They will regurgitate whatever shit takes their favorite youtubers say because kids think that they're smart or kids they are their friend or something. Then those children go on twitter or go to school and tell everyone that the new games suck because "there's nothing in the game that shows you how to actually play the game" or something among those lines. Regardless of how true it is, of course.
