Why the fuck do you people care about the zodiac meme? Charmander is a lizard not dragon and Cyndaquil is a badger, not a rat or mouse. This thing was busted since gen 2.

it doesn't have to be the first form, retard. Final form works too. As long as there's a clear inspiration somewhere across the line. Some of them work fine for the first form, like Scorbunny and Tepig. Others, like Chimchar and Charmander, don't fully reveal themselves until they evolve. Fuecoco might lose its limbs and evolve into a snake, it might not. If it does, it fits. If it doesn't, it probably doesn't fit.

No no no! Turtwig is based on the same mythical beast that inspired Bowser, a turtle dragon that has ox horns!!! I mean even the kanji for ox and tortoise is similar 牛 and 亀. See how both have a double cross?! Sure Turtwig may have a cute piggy snout but it is clear that Game Freak was thinking of an ox when they made Turtwig.
