Pokémon’s art-style is constantly evolving. Anything can “fit” when we have Pokémon like Arcanine at the same time as Pokémon like Jynx.

Pokémon can be more than just “(animal) but (color)” without going full-fursona.

Arcanine and Jynx look like they belong in the same world though. Pokemon has a unified artstyle for all its creatures to make them look like they could exist in the same world. There are no Pokemon that look out of place next to other Pokemon.

Besides, there are plenty of "cat but x" pokémon in existence like Persian or Liepard so I have no idea what you're on about in the first place.
