No, they just made alpha shinies worthless, like outbreak shinies already were. Killed my last bit of shiny hunting fun I could have with the game. Spent a lot of time with the game and don't regret it, but I'm done until DLC comes out.

Like, going to the outbreak saving, doing the outbreak, going back to the village, coming back to camp, saving, then repeat?

I just had a look because for some reason I thought you could get Burmy in Friend Safari's but I was wrong. The only place you can find wild Burmy on the overworld is Route 3 in X/Y, unless you want to try and use the Poke Radar I'd just MM.

Massive mass outbreaks made me drop the game. Part of it is salt they nerfed the old shiny reset method. Otherwise I've been in 5 since finishing the tutorials and have seen no shinies and only one rare thing (spiritomb). I don't fucking care that my map is full of a shit ton of things I can easily catch on the map. The rain just makes the environments feel the same, the time limit kills the comfy, and alphas I would normal do circles on hoping for a shiny are despawned. I wish I hadn't updated.

Not to mention all the battle shit doesn't have good rewards.
