Unironically Pokemon Shield with both DLC is the definitive modern Pokémon experience. So much to fucking do it’s insane. Instant access to your PC at all times. Meaning you can consistently access every Pokémon you catch and change your team at will. IVS/EVS incredibly easy to manage. You can camp with your entire team, play fetch and games with them, and make them dinner. Best selection of Pokémon in ANY game and most Pokémon you can physically catch in a single game. Shield’s exclusive Pokémon are so good Sword is a downgrade. Open areas that range from meh to absolutely stunning. Remember that old N64 fan pic of Red riding Lapras in a mock-up N64 open world Pokémon game? That is the first DLC. Once you get the upgrade for you bike that turns it into a fucking bike boat. You get chased by Sharpedo and you genuinely have to dodge them. Anyways, two DLCs dedicated to the complaints, the 2nd one being so good Game Freak accidentally made the best Pokémon experience since HG/SS. Graphically the best looking Pokémon game though that is not saying much at all. Don’t listen to the seething replies. The sales don’t lie. It’s the best selling Pokémon for a reason. They were simply filtered by a fantastic game that is a 9/10 with DLC.
