Of course they do. 80% of this board is uunvaccinated, 70% believe Trump won 2020, and 60% are climate deniers.
These people don't believe in facts and objective reasoning. They prefer posturing and refuse to admit when they are wrong. They push for endless shouting matches and prefer political Discord over truth—total cancers to our society between their endless lousy faith arguments and endless contrarianism. They exposed themselves when they OUTRIGHT tried to convince you that a fox=dog, jumping 1 billion and one hoops to get towards this conclusion. Why are they like this? Why do they keep working to pollute and ruin modern public discourse on literally every topic from Russia's invasion to whether of not an echninda=a rat?
A few reasons:
First, because they are human beings and NEED to feel right about everything regardless of how wild the stance is. Accepting that they don't understand the world as much as they wished to is humiliating and scary as now they would have to question the integrity of their worldview altogether. The unknown is not preferable.
Second, because sunk cost fallacy. They spent almost a DECADE now on this sinking ship and trying to convince other people that their deranged schizo rant is real. Just imagine being THAT guy. He's derailed dozens of threads, posted at least 100,000 characters and even made an infograph or two...but all for what? Nothing. He quite literally wasted his time if Zodiac theory is proven wrong. Therefore it can NEVER be wrong. Of course, this doesn't make logical sense because it's not up to him whether or not it's true and all that time and energy will never come back no matter how much he forces himself into his fantasy world. If anything, he's just losing more time and energy continuing the delusion.
