>>49818877Getting high is not about just chilling
In fact it’s often the opposite
It’s about feeling fuzzy and enjoying the things you enjoy even more, and loosening your thought processes so you’re more open to different ideas and abstract angles of thinking
>>49819149Throughout my life I go through phases of smoking frequently for months or weeks and stone cold for other months and weeks. I never go through withdrawals, and enjoy and look forward to the clear sober times just as much as the meandering high times. The high times are really effective ways of pausing and unpacking my life up to that point
People get addicted if they’re depressed and don’t have other sources of psychological reward. You just have to have a life basically, goals or hobbies you’re working on, things to keep you busy, relationships you enjoy etc. Then you can indulge in some recreational grass breathing without the risk of relying on it for happiness.
The problem is, most people start when they’re very young and likely haven’t gotten much going in their lives yet, and it intensifies what they do got going, like vidya and having a laugh with the bros. Paired with a teenager’s higher impulsivity and lack of self-control, it’s a slippery damn slope to it becoming nearly the only thing that brings them fun on such a level.
Your motivation to make changes and turn your life into what you want will be dulled if you become addicted before you do these things, because you basically have instant gratification on hand that’s much more intense than other addictive things like food and tv. Internet/smartphones probably have weed beat in addiction though kek
And yeah it makes you slow, so I don’t recommend it to anybody with particularly ambitious goals that requires mental sharpness.
