One of the biggest criticisms against Pokemon is that every game is the same thing. These people know what they're gonna get and if by chance more info comes out that makes the game seem less appealing you can always just cancel the preorder.

The people I don't understand are the ones who order the double pack. You don't even get a discount. Why not buy one version, then if you really like it enough to play it again once you've finished it, buy the other, potentially a little cheaper. If you don't like it then you wasted less money.

It's less of an issue with pokemon since not only are the games mostly the same every year but they're also only a fraction of the franchise's profits, but in general preordering without substantial information tells shareholders the brand name is more important than the content itself so it's okay to make shit products because they'll still sell like crazy and make them lots of money since nobody cares anyways.

Only game I preordered in my life was AS, which was the last one I bought, and the shipment was late, so I went to the store in vain 3 times and only got it 1 week after release, all for the metal case.
Fuck preorders, fuck DLCs and fuck internet on consoles.

I usually get price drops via Amazon preorder plus I get vat off. Getting the game at release is cheaper for me preordering than going to a shop and buying it. If pre-orderes cost money I could understand but all it is is clicking preorder the maybe unselecting it later. That said I'm haven't preordered SV but not sure why it get people so upset.
