This. I played them, and for the first time in pokemon, I couldn't wait for it to end.
The game has its strong points, like the exp candy and raids, but outside of that it's a downgrade and bastardization of Sun and Moon.

Compared to BotW sure, compared to Gen 7 it's gorgeous. Main series Pokemon games only go up in terms of graphical quality. Saying Gen 8 looks bad is just admitting every Pokemon game up to this point has looked awful (which we know is true).

Again, I'll buy the base game because I like collecting new Pokemon and traversing a new region but I'll be damned if I buy that DLC before it adds all the old Pokemon that should've been added by now.

XY was a transition game to 3D. Still decent enough but could've really used a Z version, got fucked over.
SM has no such excuses and is a thoroughly unenjoyable experience.
Gen 8 is another transition to console and attempting the wild area.
Gen 9 has no such excuses given PLA has proven GF can get the wild area/open world model done correctly.
Gen 8 would be head and shoulders above Gen 7 if not for the dexcut. It's a big problem and why I still haven't bought the DLC but I'd still rather play it sans DLC than ever touching SM again (besides to save my poor Pokemon that are stuck there).

It didn't attempt anything. The wild area should have connected to Hulbury and Turffield to make the game truly open world. For all intents and purposes SWSH is just SM again (again) but shittier.

Finish the single player stuff in like 10 hours or whatever, Maybe shiny hunt for a few hours if any catch my interest, A few online battles if the comps move over etc, Realize Adventure, Raids, Battles are more repetitive fun than this and go back to playing SwSh
