>>49854096Well, As far as I see, the evolution is affected by 3 factors, and even then it can change radically.
>1: the Digimon itselfA Digimon is born from an egg, but also he can be created by converting raw data into a Digimon. This raw data can be combined to form another forms, but let's just stick with the basics: a Digimon pops out of an egg or is created
>2: EvolutionThis is where it gets tricky. Some Digimon evolved in a straight line, like a normal Pokemon, but these lines have branches as well. An Agumon can be a Greymon, but also can be a Starmon or a Skelletomon (or whatever the name of that giant dragon skeleton was), depending on the data he receives. Imagine EVs. You can get a, let's say, Mudkip, but by increasing his Speed, you can get a Barboach. That is one way to put it.
>3: Friendship and StressThis gets trickier as well. Remember that digievolutions has branches? These branches increase with how much a Digimon trusts his tamer. If the connection is strong, the Digimon can grow into a powerful Mega Digimon. But if the Digimon is treated badly, his evolution can go from garbage (like Sukamon or Garbagemon) to incredibly dangerous (like Dark Cheerubmon)
If you follow those three, you should be fine. I know there are fusions, but I feel that is more like Shin Megami Tensei rules, where you fuse demons together and see what pops up.
