It's the same world where a desert exists in the middle of 'Britain' for instance. The fact that they're legit trying to tie in clothes to the story by you being a student has got to be one of the dumbest things ever. I get they're trying to make kids feel like they can self-insert more, but nobody cares, not even kids (except maybe Japanese kids). Like it's such a ridiculous notion that does nothing but hinder the game. It has ruined the protagonists design with their beyond shitty outfits, it's hindered the story in all likelihood already by forcing you to go through educational pokemon learning (as if most of the players didn't already know how the fuck to play the game at this point), it's forcing customization until after you complete all of that, etc.
It's just bad design all the way around and there is legit no saving it unless they scrap it entirely, which they won't. Who the fuck goes into a Pokemon game, let alone a Pokemon story and is like, "Yeah, I really wish the clothes played more of a part in my journey. Really wish I was a typical school kid learning about Pokemon." Nobody, fucking nobody.
