Do you want S&V to use Legends's battle system? Are we confirmed that battles take place in overworld again? I personally prefer legends's battle system for more enjoyable and tougher 1v1 battles. Now you can't just dragon dance twice and sweep opponent's whole team.

Overworld battles are confirmed yes, we haven't seen the battle UI and its not called an "action RPG" so i doubt it'd have the dynamic turn order stuff.
Hard to say if some legends stuff is going to carry over, we don't exactly have much context.

The screenshots also make me think that running around during battle is gone and the auto camera is back.

Cause he's pretty far from the camera, thats what perspective does.
Larvitar is merely nearly the size of two pikachus, so with some distance he looks like one pikachu.

Not really. Both systems have problems. In the traditional system one Pokémon with a sufficient speed and attack stat can take out an indefinite amount of Pokémon. On the new system the opposite is the problem, Pokémon are just even trades so whoever has the larger team wins.

It won't when they didn't use Legends as a new Generation, never mind the fact it was made as a dedicated SP game, thus they could fuck with the trad battle engine. They have VGC to think of.
