Fairy indirectly made Rock and Ice worse by being week to Steel, which gave incentive to use Steel-type Pokémon and moves, which in turn led to an increase of Fighting-type Pokémon and moves. But Game Freak being the fuckheads they are will probably just turn G-max Steelsurge into a regular move in gen 9.
