Acronyms are problematic because kids will think of sadomasochism instead of Sun and Moon. The same way they would think of the national-socialist Schutzstaffel instead of Sword and Shield.

It is also a problem when distinguishing Sword, Shield from SoulSilver, and causes confusion with RB could mean Ruby and Black, or GS when you are referring to Green and Sapphire, Sword or Shield.
