I did about 300 resets hunting a shiny Mudkip in ORAS, gave up, and then ran into a random shiny Wurmple on my way through the forest. First random shiny I ever got.

This might take some of you back: in September 2007 the Manaphy TRU event took place; you could go to your local Toys R Us and download a free Manaphy that you could pick up from a dude in the Pokemon Center. It had random IVs and nature.

In the first hour I got my desired nature (was either Modest or Timid the hell if I remember now) & all IVs were 25-31.
