From the very beginning I have been saying that catching through battling is different to action oriented catching but both provide the same end result.
>pla has traditional catchingIts not the same because the battle system is different, even if you implement mainline battle system mechanics to it, it still doesn’t change the fact that the focus of the game is being a turn based battler and having action oriented catching mechanics would essentially make that aspect of the game not turnbased oriented

Exp share isn’t a fair comparison because we are talking about balancing the games leveling curve when that comes into mind, catching is pretty much on its own bubble without affecting the game in such a way that would make it imbalanced so its not really comparable. Its kinda complicated to put it into words but basically the catching aspect needs to be turn based in a turn based game, that is exactly why i am advocating to keeping action oriented mechanics out of the mainline gen 9 game and bringing them back for a legends title because those titles are built entirely around action oriented mechanics and the turn based battling is more of a supplement.
