>>49850281He has a point, only one of three things can happen now.
>Ash beats Leon and proceeds to somehow still lose in the next series, despite being the best Trainer in the world>Ash loses to Leon but is still in at least the Top 10 and still loses to others in the next seriesBoth of these are likely to very basic trainers and Gym Leaders too, who realistically at least one of which would participate in this Tournament as well.
>Rebooted entirely and wiping the slate cleanIt's actually a lose-lose situation with how they've set up this Tournament with specific rankings while confirmed in the anime that Leon is the best Trainer in the world. It actually causes a lot of the stakes in the future to either be lost, or cause utterly ridiculous plotholes considering Ash's skill level at this point. Ultimately its for kids, so it doesn't matter, but its still grating to anybody over the age of 6. He also has a point on the Japanese. If they decided to actually change Ash, they'd have a huge fit, you can argue because he's iconic, much like the switch from Goku to Gohan which was originally intended, but largely its because Japanese fans will not buckle with any change to their favorite series, no matter how well the character is written. JoJo is one of those very rare exceptions to the case among anime and video games.
