most of the bw animations are shit and ruined some of my favourite pokemon like typhlosion, magnezone and magmortar.

that said, there are some standouts like crobat and aggron.

it's really hit or miss though, whereas with hgss 99% of the sprites were great.

They didn't animate them. The sprites are split into limbs, and they are rigged individually. For the most part they are just flailing about on random paths with a generic over-exaggerated "breathing" animation.
