Yea but Gen 3 was different since you had to play a bunch of other games and spin-offs for the full dex.

This. Fact is emerald was my childhood and my childhood was only so great because I didn't need to live with the pain of witnessing the limits of human degeneracy and retardation. I'm sure that had a significant affect on my well being.

Playing it right now, started earlier this week as I'd only played Ruby/Sapphire as a kid but never Emerald and wanted to try it. Gen III is such an underrated Gen. Rate my team so far bois.

Don't you need 6 games to complete the Gen 3 dex though? Ruby, Sapphire, FR, LG, Colosseum and XD I think.
Gen 4 only needs 1 less iirc (Diamond, Pearl, HG, SS, +Ranger for Manaphy)
