When people talk about Third Versions, Platinum is THE third version that actually made a difference, it fixed way too many issues DP had on top of adding a lot more side content.

Platinum didn't do anything interesting that Emerald didn't already do. Also, the Hoenn Battle Frontier is way better than the Shitnnoh Battle Frontier in every meaningful way.

There is not a single thing any Hoenn game does better than any Sinnoh game. Even your FPS cope doesn't matter when training and grinding is far faster in Sinnoh games.

Emerald BF is almost unplayable because of how the levels work and how some mons might evolve or learn a move late so you are force to grind up to lvl 100 to make them all even
And the presence of the shitty ass Palace makes you not want to bother completing all the Gold symbols

there was a measly 4-5 year gap between Emerald's release and Platinum's. Chalking it up to muh nostalgia is pure cope. Emerald is just a better game all around. Better aesthetics, better region, better frontier, better leaders, it goes on. Gen 4 is when most people I knew dropped Pokemon, Sinnoh is just boring.

Literally impossible if you are cloning in Battle Tower.
You can only reallly corrupt SOME things on your file if you do the Pomeg Glitch for like 20 seconds or more.

But seriously, if you need to rely on glitches and RNGing to even have a team for the BF, it's not a good experience. Absolutely dreadful on vanilla.

Sinnoh's slower engine combined with the drab environments (caves, mud, snow, rock climbing) just makes it less pleasant than Hoenn, which was more colorful and easy on the eyes (volcano, ash forest, underwater, rainforest, etc).

All could have been kino, it was just really poorly executed. Over-reliance on a multitude of different HMs made exploration an absolute chore. Sinnoh is very unmemorable compared to Hoenn. The only place that I really remember much in Sinnoh was the snowy route with the cabins. The rest is just a blur. Also the palette for the grass was really bad.
