I agree, and I don't think we've had a good champion theme with that kind of energy since GSC. Steven/Wallace would have nailed it had the GBA instruments not been so weak and subsequent versions rolled back the intensity. Iris, Kukui, Hau, and Leon all work for the congratulatory, "this your moment!" sort of vibe those fights were meant to have, but for the Champion fight I prefer the intense approach.
>>49856674If I put it on the list I'd call it the best one in a while. I always found Cynthia's battle theme never got off the ground despite its frantic pace, and Volo's battle theme answers that with a more engaging slower one that ends up using those same parts more effectively.
