I don't think anyone minds Pokemon based off of stuff from a culture, like who's complaining about Chimecho, right? I think it's Gen 8 being so aggressively on the nose that makes it shit, it creates this rift between the idea that Pokemon are a natural part of the world way worse than any jobmon, especially in the case of something like G-Weezing or Mr. Rime or Obstagoon where the inspiration is so in your face that it feels like the Pokemon were meant to be jokes before they were meant to be part of the world, or something.
