Probably voltorb. Humans designed pokeballs after them or something. Voltorbs started to mimic pokeballs and evolved to match modern technology.
That's just my dumb headcanon anyway.

Voltorb and electrode clearly mimic apricorns in PLA, which Pokeballs used to also be made of. They then evolved to mimic Pokeballs instead for whatever reason.
