The deserts here are very small and far apart. I can only think of two of them from the top of my head.

That said, it's not like they are going to copy Spanish ecosystems for the game, who cares, they'll do whatever they want in a vague Iberian peninsula shape.

I'd be happy with this magic lamp scorpion being real, seems like it could evolve into something fun and weird, popping more out of the metal lamp.

By early, I meant the first wild areas before the 1st Gym. OP probably worded it wrong because if by "starter bug", my assumption is you can find it as early as encountering Scatterbug, Caterpie, Sewaddle, etc. before you reach the 1st Gym. Also reaching the 3rd Gym isn't in the early stages of the game anymore IMO.

The earliest you can get Sewaddle or Venipede in BW is after the 2nd Badge and they're level 15-17, the bugs don't always have to be that early.
The leak is still fake though, we aren't getting leaked screenshots this fucking early.

What's the earliest Steel type you can get in any Pokemon game? I have a hard time believing they'd throw one at you this early when half your attacks are Normal (and if you picked Sprigatito it probably resists literally every attack you'd possibly have at this point - Grass, Normal, maybe Flying from a bird mon).

Wasn't this game suppose to be open world? I wouldn't find it that hard to believe you'd be able to find different types of poke if you had a large access to areas already from the get go

Guy who made the fake knew how to design and model creatures, but had no idea how to make a decent UI. The choice of colors is horrendous.
GF may be overall incompetent, but one of the few things they definitely learned how to do well is the battle UI. They have been good since Sun and Moon.

Has the game ever actually been described as open world or are people just assuming that? Most likely it'll just be like Sword and Shield or Legends where you only have access to a portion of the wild area or a single zone at the start while still being able to explore freely within that zone.

Yeah not sure why they didn’t say it in the trailer but the press release and tweets make no ambiguity about it being seamless open world, not even zones like the Legends/Xenoblade style. For how big of a deal is I’ve seen so few people talk about it.

Technically Lucario & Trash Cloak Wormadam are available before Gym 1 in XY. Klink & Ferroseed are available before Gym 1 in Gen 8. Alola Diglett is available early in Gen 7 too.

Like I said, they reaaally should’ve included a bit about that in the trailer to really amp the hype up instead of releasing it textually into an illiterate world. I think these games will win the vocal fanbase at large back over into the series, but they could’ve got started on that path sooner if they made no small deal of the seamless open world.

You have no fucking clue what you're talking about.
Poison/Steel is an absolutely incredible defensive typing with only 2 weaknesses and an absurd number of resists. It's at least as good as Grass/Steel and Fire/Steel (Ferrothorn and Heatran being two of the best Pokemon in the game) if not better.

Poison covers the Steel typing well by covering for the Fighting weakness while only adding one additional weakness to a type that Steels already don't want to be taking hits from (Ground). It's the same reason Fire/Steel and Grass/Steel are good, the former covers the Fire weakness and the latter covers the Ground weakness without adding any additional weaknesses.

Not as important as losing the Fighting weakness is.
Poison doesn't add as much to Steel as Grass and Fire do, and you're underestimating the importance of not having a 4x ground weakness.
Grass gets rid of the Flying and Ice resists and Fire adds a Water weakness and gets rid of the Rock resist. They both also add their own 4x weaknesses to Fire and Ground. At the very least Poison/Steel is no worse than Grass/Steel or Fire/Steel.

Hell no.

Grass adding resists to Water and Electric and removing the Ground weakness is huge, these are some of the most important offensive types. Fire/Steel is more of a mixed bag defensively, but offensively Fire adds a lot. Compare these to Poison where it really doesn't add anything important either offensively or defensively, it's not even a contest.

I'd expect 8 and change, but either way. The only time I'm aware of that something leaked this soon in the release cycle was that one pic of Let's Go with iirc Lapras. It'll be a few months still.

They can have multiple inspirations. I think it being a unique Portuguese style cooking pot used to cook seafood that happens to be holding a scorpion and works something like a genie's lamp totally works. Beside, traditionally genies were not always trapped in lamps and could be kept in other objects. It's just that lamps have become the go to once genies became popular in the West. So having this creature be a weird Steel / poison scorpion living inside a cooking pot but then it also has genie shit going on is actually super clever and touches on a lot of different puns which the Japanese fucking love. If you ask me that alone makes it seem more legit because somebody going through all the effort to make this would have had to do all of that thinking, and we know the quality of most fakemon do not reach that level

This to me shows both the pot and lamp as an inspiration. You get the gold color, the handle on top, and then the spout which humorously uses the scorpion tail tip as the little flame. But then the shape of the lamp itself looks like these pots, which actually makes sense too because scorpions are related to Crustaceans which are often cooked and eaten from these pots. It's one of those Pokemon that has a few different concepts worked in that all just sort of gel in a really interesting way
