PLA is a breath of fresh air and a good game. The overworld spawns continue to improve, the catch system is great, battle system can only go up from where it's at now. Game allows you to be more interactive with the Pokemon. Wanna throw a ball of mud at a Bidoof's face? Go for it. Wanna ride around on a giant fish and snipe pokemon in the water in slow mo? Well you can. It combines aspects from the main series games and other games like Pokemon Snap.

PLA is not by any means a perfect game but it definitely is a big step in the right direction for future Pokemon games. Anyone who doesn't like it is just a nostalgia fag who can't accept and adapt to new games.

My biggest problem with it is that it has too few Pokemon. 240 or so Pokemon is not enough for a Switch Pokemon game.

Give it time to blossom. It's only been out for a little over a month and they've already given us a nice update with the MMOs. It's only a matter of time before they add new areas to the game that come with a bunch of new mons.

Or they could go the New Pokemon Snap route and release one big update and then we never hear about it again lol

by making shinies more common legends took the best approach imo
shinies were cool if you had them in middle school where no one knew about hacking shit in, but with all the genning and injecting, free events and online begging who the fuck cares about shinies being "valuable anymore"
in legends if you play thoroughly till the end you're very likely to run into at least 1-3 shinies, it's the best approach imo. make them a highlight of a playthrough or whatever that rewards players who take their time exploring, instead of being rewards for autists or alt skins for cheaters

the problem is not gameplay.
the problem is a lack of compelling characters. in old games you always had gym leaders with relatively strong imagery and personalities, heroes of your youth.
PLA's cast is lame, boring, forgettable.

when did the standard by which you judge a game as being good, become based on how long you keep playing/replaying it? I beat a game, and I had a good time, I cherish that time, and I am done.
