>>49892933Ok, here's my controversial opinion:
There's more Pokemon in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon than Sword and Shield + DLC, and moving forward, USUM will have the most Pokemon out of any game at 807 as of 2017, 5 years ago. This makes it the DEFINITIVE Pokemon experience, even with all its flaws and lack of series staples like gym battles. Compare that to SWSH which has 651. And no, no need to argue semantics. This is just the Pokemon, no dynamax, megas or other multicolor bullshit. This wouldn't be so bad if SWSH's new batch of mons were stronger design wise which meriting cutting mons like Golem, Typhlosion, Ampharos, Slaking, Torterra, Gliscor, Eelektross, Toucannon, and more. The worst part is there's no excuse for not bringing in all the gen 4 mons when they just got their own game other than it's not profitable since gen 8 is officially old and busted. And yes, gen 8 is ancient now, don't expect anything new for it. Buy Scarlet and Violet.
The people clamoring for no nat dexes barely play Pokemon, they just buy 2 copies + DLC, let it rot in their switch and then forget why they bought it in the first place only to give their 'hot takes' on social media, because being a 'gamer' nowadays is essentially paying a membership or subscription fee, not unlike Netflix or HBO. You don't have to play games, just pay your subscription, collect items and watch your favorite V-tubers. It's haphazardly crafted bait made to pump their personal social media accounts with likes and engagement. Imagine defending a popular franchise that wastes more money on marketing, than you'll ever make in your lifetime, and getting you to spend your dollar on subpar products designed with a limited shelf life in mind, instead of just asking for an ounce of quality.
TL;DR, National Dexes don't take that much effort. Look at Home, if you could just store any unimplemented Pokemon in SWSH instead of a subscription service, I guarantee people wouldn't give as much of a shit as they do now.
