What's the current meta in Pokemon?

I wanna get into competitive Pokemon, but it's been a long time since I last played it, the meta at the time was Blissey and Ferrothorn but I assume this changed a lot, right?

It depends what you play. Almost everyone is still sticking with SwSh Smogon and SwSh VGC since BDSP was pretty short lived and LA had no multiplayer. For OU all you need to know is that bulky offense is the king right now. VGC has restricted mons right now so the usual mons are up to bat; Zacian, Kyogre, Rillaboom, Incineroar, Regieleki, etc.

for VGC Ranked Series 12, the biggest threat is Venusaur and Groudon. Venu can outspeed your entire team and put them to sleep. Also I ran into a Coaching Zamazenta teamed up with a Coil Weakness Policy Zygarde-Complete that used Max Wyrmwind and Max Quake to become even bulkier. He also brought in a Floral Healing Comfey to further embarrass me. I couldn't break through that team and had to forfeit in shame. Finally, Snarl Yveltal is also threatening and tough to stop, especially when teamed up with Lando-T and Incin who can cycle Intimidates. To answer your question, I don't know.

LA doesn't have comp so most comp players are still sticking with SWSH VGC and Singles and its pretty active still and will continue being active until gen 9 comes out
