The type chart could be fixed with three easy changes.
>Ice-type Pokémon resist Ground-type moves.
>Bug-type Pokémon resist Fairy-type moves.
>Bug-type moves are SE against Fairy-type Pokémon.
Suddenly Ice gains some defensive utility and Fairy isn't completely busted. In return, I propose we give the Fairy type more physical moves so they aren't falling back on Play Rough in every instance except for Grimmsnarl.

Why are zoomers so obsessed with nerfing Water type?
I really like the Poison type, but it being strong vs Water seems wrong.

probs because water is just such an insanely good defensive type with only two weaknesses, and most water types get free coverage (ice beam) to nix one of said weaknesses. poison specifically gets brought up to help out offensive poison types a bit by giving them a niche against such a common defensive type

Those have sand mixed in them, which do the actual cutting. Water is just piggybacking into ground's supereffectiveness agains rock.

Pressurized water jets can easily punch through stone. Also, rivers eroding rocks doesn't take that long. River rapids can chew through stone in a surprisingly short amount of time.

have you ever successfully thrown a rock at a fly? yeah you can CRUSH bugs with rocks but you could probably do the same to a lot of shit. hell, you hit a sheet of steel with a rock a couple times and youll probably dent it

Everything that others have said, plus it makes the classic starter core feel less skewed. Currently Water is better than Fire and Grass to the point that other design elements have to compensate, which means less design freedom for Water types and a decision with starters to make them either broken or boring as hell. Especially considering aquatic life has a much broader pool of irl inspirations than

I doubt Game Freak put much thought into it, but bug carapaces are actually rather weak to punctures while being sturdy to crushing and slashing. A sharp rock would pierce the exoskeleton while a punch would just be a glancing blow.

Making bug super effective against fairy would single-handedly redeem that type. Just create an asspull reason for it, that's how plenty of type matchups work.

Reverse what they did with bug and fairy, bug wins now. Fairy is the girly type and girls are scared of bugs.

Bugs are immune to confusion.

Fairy are resistant but not immune to dragon.

Fairy and dark are both super effective against eachother.

Normal resists fairy.

Rock resists psychic (like an impenetrable rock head)

Ice is immune to water

Ice is super effective against and resistant to poison.

Poison is neutral to ghost and psychic

Psychic is super effective against dragon

If anything water should be super effective against poison. You use water to wash away poison or gunk or acid. You could also dilute it. If you are poisoned you will often be told to drink lots of water, get the toxins out of your system. I think they should just not touch that one.

Actual insects predating on small fairies. Also as an anon mentioned, bugs are creepy crawlies that girls are usually afraid of, hence fairy being the girly type.
