some type change gimmick. You let your pokemon hold a crystal and it changes its type. pure fire holding a water crystal becomes fire/water

You have extra-evolutions that make pokémon look cooler, ultimate moves with cinematic cutscenes and giantic pokémon with ultimate giantic attacks.
Now, type changing. BORING.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the battle system.

If it does, I hope it could be a meaningful addition to the game like Abilities or the Phys/Spec. split were.

And no, not to "promote" 6th gen games.
XY was launched 9 years ago. They wouldn't do it for a game that old that it's no more profitable for GF.

And they're making come back Greninja.
With the Kalos relation this region SUPPOSEDLY has it's the perfect chance to make it real.
