PLA has a cool novelty aspect, but it doesn’t offer much outside of said novelty. The battle system sucks, and the game blatantly has no respect for your time:
>45 hours in>Munchlax, Magby, and Bonsly won’t spawn>Have to choose between waiting for distortions or farming evolution items for the Sneasel evos, Arcanine, Flareon, and Vaporeon>Could easily take 5-10 hours just to catch the last 8 pokemon
