This is why I've always been wary of subscription or account based goods and services and place such a high value on physical media.

Maybe companies banning people from a "red state" who has passed a voting law leftists don't like for example, or trying to influence opinion on abortion laws or gun rights by locking out certain areas of the country where those are prevalent.
