Geodude comes in early, shrugging off tackles and pecks and rocking all the birds and bugs, evolves pretty early and can then immediately jump to Golem and enjoy monstrous stats for that point in the game, then bow out when he’s no longer relevant or stick around with TMs or explosions if you really like him.
Rhyhorn, on the other hand, typically comes around when the game’s over half over at least, your team’s already established, and well past the prime time of a slow, bulky, specially-weak rock/ground type. And he evolves really late.
I’ve used geodude and his bros many, many times. I don’t think I’ve used rhyhorn even once.
