They're spreading it all out to get people to keep returning to the game.

Remember that the Shaymin event is still happening right now and only started a couple weeks ago. Once that's done, they'll move on to the Darkrai event and then online features/Home.

I also suspect that GF have been very reluctant to allow Home connectivity until ILCA can permanently fix the cloning glitches.

I do hope they eventually let us catch Arceus even if we have to trade the Legends Arceus over. I also hope they have a Celebi and Deoxys event so we can have every pokemon in BDSP without trading over but that's pretty unlikely at this poin

I'm wondering how/if they'll handle the Arceus event. I know the Shaymin and Darkrai events were handed out in Platinum, but as far as I know never in base DP. I can see them making it either a regular event with the Azure Flute being distributed online (since they've already shown its existence in Legends, and the Sea Prince quest shows they're not against cross-referencing games), or maybe making it a cross-purchase bonus that gives you the flute in the post game for having a Legends save file

They deleted the Arceus event data in BDSP with the day one patch though. My guess is they won't run Arceus, as you can only get one Arceus and BDSP/Legends were confirmed to be the same timeline, when Arceus ripped the BDSP MC from the modern day to fix the past.

I forget, didn't that happen with Shaymin? I swear I remember hearing something about that area also getting deleted in a patch but now it's back due to the current event they've got. It's possible they just have it removed from the game for later reimplementation, I doubt TPC would let the money that went into at least the Arceus theme go to waste since it's different from the PLA one

Needing to hop through that many hoops for fucking grass guinea pig would've been asinine to be fair. I'll just be naively optimistic and hope Arceus is implemented as a cross-buy bonus for Legends in an update, maybe make it a unique event where if you have a 100% dex in Legends it makes it so the Azure Flute spawns where the box legendary item in BDSP is in the post game, to imply your Legends self left it there in the past but that would be too kino for the amount of effort they're putting into BDSP in general, sadly

Shaymin was removed but not with the day one patch like Arceus. Shaymin was removed several patches in to stop people from glitching to it. But it was added back in the last patch because oak's letter was released after the pokemon day stream.. So the letter is currently claimable via mystery gift and it is possible to reach shaymin by official means.

The same is true for Shaymin though, but they still released Oak's Letter in BDSP by Mystery Gift.
