Nigger I played the game. You overlevel everything because of how much exp it shits out, you’re not even supposed to overlevel the E4 but you do anyway. In order to avoid overleveling you have to skip trainers.

Maybe if you skip as many trainers as possible
I’m honestly glad they at least gave held items, proper movesets and hidden abilities to E4 and gym leaders overall, the gym leaders pose no fucking threat because of the overlevel but cynthia might at least ko 1-2 of your mons and flints steelix and drifblim might catch you of guard

I didn't have an ice type so I used a Tangrowth. It was bulky enough to live a +2 Poison Jab and had Sleep Powder and Giga Drain

Not only did I overlevel cynthia, But my friend did a nuzlocke of the game where he skipped every single optional trainer and the came only managed to put him at cynthias level.
To make matters worse Cynthia was the easiest to beat simply because he could setup on spiritomb.

Dude I am playing the game RIGHT now and I’m at the point where you START to take the route to snowpoint city, I haven’t even entered mount coronet. My pokemon are level 49-50. Cynthias highest leveled pokemon is fucking 66.
I still have the entirety if the galactic building to go, all of the snowy routes, snowpoint gym, legendary catching, sunyshore city, sea route to pokemon league, victory road and all of elite four.

I don't remember who did it, but my Heracross got burnt neat the start of the fight, activating guts and allowing it to sweep her whole team. Shit was so cash. But hit Garchomp with any ice move and you're golden. If that's your screenshot, Quag is way too slow and weak to take down Garchomp before it takes Quag down.
