Which Pokemon game did you have trouble with as a kid?

For me, it was Emerald after choosing Torchic. The last two gyms game me a lot of trouble, and I didn't even know you could get Rayquaza. I just wandered around and grinded for weeks until I was strong enough.

I couldn't beat the sewer section of pokemon ranger for the longest time, so I dropped the game there. eventually went back to the game and beat it easily.

Diamond. We meme on Japanese children but I also legitimately got lost, not IN Mt coronet, but because I didn’t actually know I was supposed to go there after beating Cyrus at his hideout. Took me an actual year to accidentally stumble upon the correct place, and by that point I had a level 70 Empoleon so I just swept the rest of the game. I still loved playing the game as a kid tho, getting stuck was part of the experience. The only other times I got legitimately stuck in a Pokémon game were cause of gardenia in Diamond again (I only had like a level 25 prinplup and some random fodder around 10-15) and in HG I also got stuck on Whitney, plus I didn’t know that you had to get the squirt bottle for a while. Actually for that matter I think it also took me a while to beat Clair cause she’s fucking tough, but not so long that it’s really that notable.

Had some troubles with Lorelei in Fire Red because i had no decently leveled mon other than my lvl 87 Charizard, and was stuck for quite some time until i remembered that i had caught Zapdos, so i teached him thunder and shat on the league.

For the most part the games were never too hard. Except for this bitch in Sapphire. As a Sceptilechad her Walrein was a goddamn nightmare, even worse than the Dragon sailor man right after.

After that I was old enough to know to build a varied team and level them evenly throughout the game.

Oddly, I never had a single problem with GSC which is why I always get confused whenever people here complaint of a 'bad level curve'.

Not me but I did find out why they made Wally's dad directly come and give you HM Surf after the gym battle.
My schoolmate was just about fight Norman shortly after Ruby and Sapphire's release when we got out for school holidays, about halfway through we have a sleepover and it turns out he's been stuck for the few weeks we hadn't seen each other because he just didn't read anything.
I shouldn't have been surprised because he always needed me to do Johto's ice puzzle for him but Christ.

It is retarded but for some reason, most kids at school couldn't do it.
I was the loser poor kid but was popular for about a week because I was the only one who could do the puzzle.
Didn't make sense why they couldn't because it was so easy, same as why I couldn't understand not reading anything.
I get why they didn't now that I'm older but it bothered the hell out of me.
