>>49936267RSE for sure, and yes that includes Ruby and sapphire. ORAS ruins the originals in the following ways, in no particular order
>Exp share obviously enables trivializing the game to a ludicrous degree>Far more cutscenes that add nothing meaningful to the plot aside from characterizing certain characters as cartoonishly flamboyant>Removes ability to skip gyms 2 and 6>Certain opportunities to warp (one of which is mandatory) shits all over the map design of the originals and outright encourages the player to skip optional areas and stops that house important items and TMs among other things >While the split is good, the originals were designed with the original mechanics in mind and you can tell they didn’t properly rebalance the campaign for it>Similar to the split, stuff like all the new moves, new evolutions for old mons, new mons being made available pre E4, infinite TMs etc make the game way easier as well, clearly not balanced >Annoying stuff like free mega lati, the essentially removed new mauville, a few old areas butchered like route 113, and the constant loading zones bring it down>The graphics in general really don’t favour the 1:1 style of the remake, places that used to be separated by trees now just have darker grass slapped in the middle and it shits all over the aesthetics of the games >No pokeblock mini game + the new contests unironically suckI might be missing a few things but I’ve made my point. For some people this stuff doesn’t matter cause it also has pokenav, mirage islands, soaring, and other fun additional features, but I don’t love these games for having loads of features, I love them because they’re highly polished meticulously designed and incredibly focused games, with one clear vision. They’re cohesive. ORAS is not cohesive, it’s a Frankenstein of a game, therefore I don’t like it
