Make it fairydark like it should've been
Give it strong jaw and a signature fairy biting move as well as jaw lock
I don't know if this actually helps cause I don't do comp but if I made a hard mode style romhack that changes things like that, that's what I would do. Not make it fairy/fighting like that one hack did for no reason

Higher defenses (+20 Defense and +30 Special Defense brings it to 90/95/90 and a healthy 500 point BST), Slack Off, and Parting Shot. Maybe a more reliable STAB than Play Rough would be nice, but these changes make it a pretty good pivot and give it a useful niche in most tiers.

It makes less sense as pure fairy and hacks retype it to fairy fighting or keep it.
And it gets aggressive and rages so yes, it is violent, and it's a bulldog, so dark type fits. It's the combination of fairy and dark specifically that fits Granbull, not one or the other or another combination.

Either do this to the Pokémon itself or give it an evolution and it would improve pretty substantially. Being conservative with buffs to be safe here.

>+10 HP
>give it a physical Fairy move that can't miss

It wouldn't be meta or anything but a bulky Intimidate Fairy with high Attack and good coverage is pretty great all things considered

Granbull wasn't supposed to be THAT bad but the constant speed powercreep is a pain in the ass for slower mons that are on the bulkier side
Gamefreak gives out favoritism with high atk/sp.atk and speed combination like it's candy so it's no wonder some mons that are supposed to take a hit and dish out back fall off
It's funny since fully defensive stallmons get more love and attention than slow/bulky mons

We're talking about Granbull, though. It has 90/75/60 base defenses. That's worse than Wailord even on the Physical side.
