I dropped UM after the last fetch quest trial since that was the last bit of tedious and cancer I could handle, and I dropped B2 around the grave tower area since the cutscenes were grating and I didn't like the selection of Pokémon by that point. Galar wasn't that fun but it didn't have anything that wasted my time and was a short game with skippable shit, plus I found enough Pokémon both new and old I liked to make a team.
(my final galar team was Solrock, Tsareena, Grapploct, Corviknight, Drifblim, and Froslass)
I don't like any final evo of any starters besides Greninja past Gen 4 (and I skipped Gen 6 since I hated Gen 5 so much, ended up trying it later and it looked to be a cutscene fest just like UM so I dropped it after transferring a Froakie out) so I basically have to make new teams from nothing for all post Gen 4 games.
It's not like every Pokémon from Gen 5 looked like shit but especially early on there was nothing I liked that was new and even the older selection was kind of shit to me except Magnemite for a while. I don't even think I had a full permanent team by the time I quit, the selection was that bad, even in UM I was able to make a full permanent team with just new shit, not even counting old stuff.
