It is indeed amazing how they nailed the concept of a remake with HGSS and they absolutely shit down on that with every remake forward.

Yes, there are problems with the level curve, but they went out of their way to include the Battle Frontier when they could have just included a tower and it would still be faithful.

Not the same - he's the only roadblock in the game apart from the Saffron guards, and they both do it tactfully. The BW2 one is insulting and is one of about 10 roadblocks.

Gen 7 didn't deserve to be sandwiched in between shit. It's better off being grouped with the golden era.

Sad, but it wasn't in RS. It was the same thing with FRLG. HGSS included Crystal content, but that wasn't much, less so than Emerald at least.
What is truly unacceptable is removing things that were in the base games, like move based contests in BDSP.

I agree. Making Stakataka and Blacephalon third version exclusives was complete bullshit. Third versions themselves feel like scams, but split third versions like USUM is the height of greediness on GameFreak's part.

BW2 is an actual sequel with new places, different paths, different gyms and characters from the first game grew up. USUM is a literal fanfic of the first game. There was zero fucking reason for USUM to be two fucking version

Honestly Johto is arguably the only gen that needed remakes anyway seeing as there was only so much they could do with the originals.

The only gen after this that I'd argue should get remakes is Kalos. It never got its third version and it is filled with so much wasted potential.

OP was annoyed at the removal of the Battle Frontier in ORAS when Emerald had one already planned out for Hoenn a decade before ORAS released and Ruby/Sapphire at least had a Battle Tower planned out for Hoenn in 2002.

GameFreak is lazy so they though it'd be easier to copy paste the Battle Maison from XY into ORAS just like how they copy pasted the Battle Frontier from Platinum into HGSS.
