I think that it is more to do with the fact that gen VI, particularly Kalos, is the most neglected region. It was dropped like a hot potato as soon as ORAS was released, and the generation seemed mostly forgotten shortly into gen VII.

I didn’t believe the gen 6 leak. I thought it was an obvious fake leak because the designs bar Greninja looked atrocious.

NTA but mainly the treatment of the Johto starters.

Though the Johto Starters got to be in Snap with Meganium being the mascot. And Cyndaquil was the Fire type Legends starter with Typhlosion getting a regional forms. So it seems that theist least starting to value the Johto at starters now. So I’d say that anon was wrong with saying the Johto is the most neglected region (at least not currently)

I completely forgot about Ash-Greninja. However, it is apparent that Greninja is unique among the Kalos starters, being the biggest starter shillmon since Charizard.
Still, I cannot deny that the Johto starters are the most neglected of any starter pokemon.
