She wasn't used to losing to anyone but super duper amazing elite four champion cousin, and then lost to a kid, copes by making you take test even she hasn't passed and expecting a failure, but it backfires on her and she has no choice but to finally recognize your worthiness, expecting you to beat the Pokemon league as a matter of personal honor.
I know she gets shit and she asked for it behaving the way she did but I really like the character, cool and sexy and strong balanced with a stubborn, insecure, and somewhat dorky side that's given reason. But she does have a heart and, all things considered, is frankly adorable imo. It seems more people have warmed up to her over time.
