Pokemon having overly grand, retarded plots started in Gen 4
When i was a kid I didn't understand whatever the fuck Cyrus was talking about and assumed it would mean something when I was older. I was wrong, it never had any substance.
Hell some people might have said the same thing if they played Hoenne's Aqua / Magma story line when they were young and genuinely thought they were trying to say something about environmentalism.
ORAS falls into the same shallow grand lore, overly long cutscenes, and too much focus on side characters, but it's got Soul for expanding on the evil team and joking around with it
