>>49960743>Do you actually like it or is it just tolerable?I like it, Zelda's VA is the only one that is tolerable I find.
>Did you enjoy it or is it just there?See above.
>Does it improve the experience or just not actively make it worse? It definitely improves Zelda, it's needed it for quite some time.
Also because it's 2022, nobody cares to read all that much anymore and voice acting typically helps most games, so you can just sit back and relax without constantly having to worry about reading stuff. While yes that usually isn't a big deal, voice acting is rather nice. To be fair to Zelda this is also their first real attempt (barring Midna technically) with voice acting, so its gonna take them awhile.
As for your other points replying to the other anon, Xenoblade is just bad because of British VAs and that's really only the first one and Shulk in particular. RE got massively better from RE4 and onward. Plus you have other comfy games with great voice acting, Spyro for instance had great voice acting, FFX (don't even argue for the laughing scene, its one scene out of the entire game and its meant to be strange and awkward), we have FFXIV, we have Devil May Cry (which while cheesy af isn't actually all that bad), we have Persona 5, we've got Fallen Order, Warhammer games, Bioshock, Alien Isolation, Silent Hill (you can debate this one though if you want), GTA games, etc.
There are typically a lot of games with better voice acting than there are ones without. Nintendo is just finally getting into it so its gonna take them a bit, barring Fire Emblem and Zelda typically. Hell Metroid Prime 3 and Dread were fine too.
