How many new regional forms?
How many cross gen/regional evolutions?

Because they're taking the core gameplay changes (seamless battles and catching) from PLA and implementing them into a mainline game, and the map actually looks good. Also the starters are cute. I'm strangely optimistic as well.

There will be 999 Pokemon by the time gen 10 is released.
Will those 94 new mons all come with SV?
Will more be added in DLC that bring the total new mons to 999?
Will a PLA-like main series game add more bringing the total to 999?

Who knows, but GF/TPC will not pass up the opportunity to bring the number to 1000 in the 10th generation.

There used to be a pattern where odd numbered gens brought many more mons than even ones, but like many patterns GF gave up on that.

I feel like GF would want some sort of legend or mythical as 1000 instead of a random grass starter, my guess is either an end of gen mythical or a Victini style mythical that starts off the dex of gen 10

No, it's not clear. The background and terrain being detailed isn't enough evidence, they can easily do that with the traditional system. You're assuming just like people are with wild battles, not a confirmation at all.

All I said is that it's not confirmed, I never claimed to be confident in either possibility. Don't get mad when the feature you assumed is in doesn't actually make it in.

There are clearly some similarities to past gen battles. Like, why is the trainer in a set stance behind the Pokemon? If battles were seemless like PLA you should be able to move around and the camera should be more free, they would want to make that clear in screenshots.

First trailers almost never go in-depth with that shit. Just because they didn't show that ability in the trailer doesn't mean it's not there. By that logic you can assume that the starters are the only new Pokemon in the game.
