>>49965801>What do they eatFish, mostly, but they can also catch plenty of seabirds (Pelipper is good eating, that's 60 lbs of meat right there), and they do grow berries for flavor. They could probably grow spices recreationally, but largescale spice agriculture is likely not possible.
>What is their tax policyIt would be relatively light since there aren't many necessary public amenities. With how much water is nearby, a fire department is not really necessary. Maintenance of walkways and roads is also likely a non-issue due to the inability of heavy vehicles to operate there leading to massively reduced wear and tear. Due to the small size of the town, a police department is most likely not even necessary, and the only public buildings, ostensibly, are the gym and the Pokemon Center.
Given how scenic it is, tourism most likely makes up the bulk of their income, and most likely the bulk of their taxes as well. An income tax would not be necessary, and a simple sales tax would be able to pay for the salary of Juan/Wallace and the Pokecenter.
