Sword/shield was a mess at launch.

And they knew they could get away with it because of its hype and because of the updates.

Back then updates to physical media meant redistributing millions of cartridges, just a general logistical/consumer unfriendly nightmare.

They knew they could get away with it, its kinda like cyberpunk or any bethesda game. "we'll fix that in a patch"

Gen 1 misses and badge boosts happen constantly even in casual playthroughs. Most people didn't notice them because they were fucking kids when they played it. You probably didn't notice them because you're fucking retarded.

BDSP is fine to play. People like to hatefap the game and say the bugs make the game absolutely unplayable. I personally do not count any version of the game before the day 1 version as I feel it is unfair. Day 1 version's only bad bug is being stuck in the ice gym, and I think most people would have been able to avoid it. It's been patched out now. The other bugs are either too minor to notice (bag items being resorted/hidden) or you need to go out of your way to do it on purpose (menu screen glitch).

It's literally Game Freak's fault that BDSP turned out the way it did. ILCA did their best for what time limit they had, even though they were underqualified. The game being mostly DP with barely any Pt material, the affection system, the forced exp share, the dex cut, the game corner's removal with no other minigames in its place, no battle frontier, etc. that was all Masuda.
