The RNG exists for the sake of the singleplayer mode as a way for our minds to fill in what's happening in the battle. But when it comes to PvP, especially when there are stakes/prizes, these RNG events become incredibly frustrating. When the RNG hits, is it because you're a good/bad player? No, it's because the game said "fuck it." Competitive Pokémon is basically Smash but with items on. Because of this, Pokémon VGC will NEVER have a HungryBox or M2K returning champion, no matter how many times Wolfe reminds the internet that he plays competitive Pokémon. It's fun, but it's not fair. That's like asking SummoningSalt about JRPG speedruns and he'll just say "lol"
