>>49967518>FireThe designs that are based on mythological creatures connected to fire (e.g. phoenix, hellhound) tend to be decent to good, and the ones that take some aspect of fire (volcano, magma) also aren't bad, but the Fire type tends to be hard-pressed for original and interesting designs due to the lack of multidimensionalism in fire/heat, which leads to random fire creatures that boil down to "animal or object that can manipulate fire", nothing fancy or thought-out. I think it's a type that hasn't been used to its full potential thus far.
>GrassI think Grass types have been generally better designed than most Pokemon, but there's some lazy ones like Sunflora and Rillaboom that keep it from being called a perfect batch, and there's a pretty big gap between the cleverer designs like Cacturne, Ludicolo, Shiftry, and Torterra and the less good ones.
>DragonThis should be an interesting typing but I feel like most of its representatives aren't very good. You've got Dragonite line that goes from water snake to Dragon Tales.
Kingdra which for all intents and purposes is just a seahorse.
Flygon which looks more like an insect than a reptilian, and beside the goggles which call to that has nothing distinguishing about its design.
Salamence which loses the only feature/trait distinguishing its line and becomes a generic Western dragon, only acceptable due to the lack of such a creature hitherto but in like company would pale for its sheer basicness.
Latios and Latias that resemble aircraft, and are fairly original besides that, so good enough.
I could go on. Most Dragons are mediocre at best in terms of design, and the ones that use the typing well (Rayquaza for example) are few and far between.
