Give a Pokémon a regional variant for the fun of it. I'll start with the Larvitar line which is themed after the transformation from carbon to diamonds.
Larvitar (Rock) -> Pupitar (Rock) -> Tyranitar (Rock/Fairy)
Description: A diet of carbonous minerals gave Larvitar this form. When close to evolution, it digs deeper and deeper into the earth's crust and makes a cocoon. Inside of Pupitar's shell is a vast amount of pressure and intense heat. It might take years for it to reach its final form. Tyranitar's body is made of a similar material to diamond. It is hard enough to withstand blunt force.
