Hunted for a shiny Girafarig in BD. Only took a chain of like 19 to get it.
It is a replacement for my first shiny ever. Got one from the safari zone in Sapphire and ended up deleting my save not knowing how rare it was.

Hatched a shiny Jangmo-o a few months ago, was cute, but regretted evolving it. Shiny Hakamo-o and Kommo-o are atrocious.

I hope that they integrate some stuff over from PLA to SV. For example, the overworld spawns show as shiny, there's also an audio and visual cue if you're not paying attention. If the game is a true "open world" game, hopefully they bring over the mount system from PLA as well, but not necessarily the same exact pokemon, maybe can choose from a select few or something like that.

Yeah, I was like ~80 mons away from completing the dex so I went ahead and did that to get my shiny charm to make my odds like 1/100 but i think each of the 4 pokemon you catch have a 1/100 chance or some shit.

Abra, couldn't even tell it was shiny and Kadabra is just a fucking shade lighter. At least the brown parts are purple for Alakazam.

Full-odds Soft Reset even though I hate it because there's no other choice

Shiny Smeargle on my PoGo alt but the odds on that are relatively high right now, it's just that you only get a limited number of attempts at it. For main series successes, that would be RNGing a shiny Channel Jirachi or getting a legit shiny dracovish from Cara.

I got a shiny beldum during Go Fest last year and it had the most dogshit stats imaginable (3/2/3) but other than that I have a hard time getting mad at shinies

I'm no stranger to RNG, i've done it for a handful of stuff like gen 3 Deoxys, Gen 4 Shaymin/Darkrai and a handful of other legendaries/eggs but I want to at least make a good attempt at getting this one legitimately first before I try RNG.

Sinnoh is the region I have some of the most nostalgia for and I remember as a kid cheating to get the hall of origin arceus event that they never distributed. Now that it's here legitimately, getting a shiny Arceus feels like a fitting tribute to my favourite region/repentance for all the shit I did with my Action Replay as a kid.

Your time isn't wasted if you're doing something you enjoy.
The feeling you get from a full odds hunt finally paying off is different from the feeling you get when you're tweaking the odds in your favour. Maybe because the hunt is longer and there are more times when you think about taking an easier route. It's a good feeling, if you like huntan you should definitely try a full odds hunt at least once.

A shiny Teddiursa in Go, this was before Ursaluna existed. That neon green is lazy, ugly, and they should have just made him a fucking black bear with silver/white highlights for shiny.

It plays like PLA mixed with the classic format. More focus on Battles, Gyms/E4. Keep the FFX like combat and bring back 3v3. GV is just better than IV/EV. No RNG, no grinding, no buying/using hold items, no waiting for end game to get bottle caps, no using mobile game like mechanics where you send your mons on a adventure/job. Overworld shinies are still in. maybe make them much harder to find baseline, BUT keep the Dex progress that improves the rate over time. More evolution for older mons. Not regional forms/evos. IE Primape gets a new third evo, not a Bullfighter Mankey/Primape. Keep the items that allow you to evolve mons WITHOUT trading, the option should be there but not the only one.

The one thing is he put it in a really dumb place. All the gameboy games were on a shelf that is around eye level/chest height, but he put this console right down at floor level. Glass shelves above but with all the other stuff on them it was hard to see.

Many, but the only one that comes to mind was a randomly encountered Alolan Geodude in Sun.
Can't be chained with a Synchronizer so it's hard to get a useable one without breeding, and I was lucky enough to have a Synchronizer with me at the time with the right Nature.
Caught it easily in a Beast Ball and checked its stats, only to find that it was Modest Natured.
I was so angry I continued hunting in that same map for weeks in hopes of encountering another one, and although I encountered several other Shinies, none of them were ever an Alolan Geodude.

Just the simple wish that everyone's useable again, which they won't be, I'm sure.

Yes. I got a shiny sneasel full odds as my first shiny in SWSH and after that it popped up everywhere it could. My crystal playthrough I started to reset for extremespeed dratini and celebi. Go. PLA. etc I literally have like 5(including my hisuian one) of the fuckers now from different games

I know the odds aren't the best they can be because I've been taking a long ass time beating the game but I feel like I have to hunt it now because I don't know when I'm ever gonna get a piplup outbreak again.

And yeah Jetballs on hills is infuriating.
if you are hunting in the same area I was area just to the left of the beach, below the cliff, then its a nightmare.
I ended up sneaking as close as possible and spamming the lock on button and ultra balls up close.

For me it's gender and IVs. But any shiny rejects I get, my friends are happy to take since they don't shiny hunt themselves.
I do enjoy breeding for the parameters I want, so if I get a female when I want a male, or Destiny Knot doesn't carry over the right IVs, I don't mind terribly.
Usually I'll just use bottle caps and ability capsules when I can. Hope they add bottle caps that zero out an IV soon

Don't know if it counts but I'm perfecting as many entries in legends as possible since I want as many shinies I can get. Because of this i'm 120 hours in the game and am just now fighting Avalugg.

I just want a shiny hunting method thats not shit
or barely explained like in Sword and Shield. The only real reliable way to get specific shinies in that game is Masuda Method and hell if I'm gonna do that for every galar pokemon. For that matter. That is if a good chunk of them make it in.

Shiny alpha Quilava using the permutations method. It took me 2 attempts since every possible permutation in my first attempt didn't yield a shiny. I was stoked as fuck when I saw that it had a timid nature though.

Not necessarily bad, but I stumbled upon a shiny Baltoy while I was trying to SOS a Gabite with Rough Skin in Ultra Moon. I had very mixed feelings about it since I woulda preferred a shiny Golett, which is only in Ultra Sun, instead.

You need to prove yourself worthy of being Arceus' trainer, before getting the chance to meet it anon. The Legends battle is non-standard, you can go through the whole battle without sending a pokémon out to fight it. So as a reward, you get to face it naturally.

Not emulating, I have a capture card in my PC. I route my switch's HDMI through that so I can play on my second monitor by bringing up the live feed. It's easier than swapping cables whenever I want to use my switch and it lets me hear audio from the switch on my pc headphones while also listening to music/videos/podcasts.

I've been hunting shiny Tyrantrum for a bit now in Sword by trying to join peoples max raid invites. I see the silhouette of one of my favorite mons, Drampa, and decided to join it on a whim. It was a SHINY and I was able to catch it. Over the moon right now. Do max raid pokemon have higher shiny rates, or was this a full odds encounter?

I have qualms with those types of shinies because there's twitch streamers who do nothing but host shiny dens for their viewers to join and catch. And to me it kind of feels no different than using pkhex at that point.

Caught a shiny Petili, Wurmple, Onix, Cherubi, and Quilfish just running around checking outbreaks while using Pokemon to fill out the dex research this evening. I actually wanted to use a Liligant because Victory Dance is fucking busted so that was a nice find, and Steelix is my girlfriend's favourite Pokemon so that's nice too. Feels pretty good.

I also accidentally KO'd a shiny Rapidash and hadn't saved since catching the Wurmple so that kinda sucked, but I didn't bother reloading and trying for it again since you get one for free anyway and I didn't wanna risk being unable to replicate the Wurmple.

Turns it spends asleep are turns where it's not burning PP. If you have yawn/well timed hypnosis uses, you can get 3-4x as many attempts before it starts to struggle, as well as the highest catch chance of any status.
